Is it necessary to bathe my guinea pig, and if so, how?

Guinea pigs generally do not require baths unless they are very dirty. Use a small amount of mild, unscented shampoo in lukewarm water. Keep the bath short and ensure the guinea pig is completely dry afterwards to prevent chilling. Always avoid water in the ears and eyes.
