Apply a small amount of peanut butter or vegetable oil to the gum to help loosen it. Gently work the gum out with your fingers or a comb. If necessary, carefully trim around the gum with scissors, being very cautious not to cut the skin. Afterwards, wash the area with a mild pet shampoo.
